inspiration | security envelopes

A while back I became obsessed with security envelopes after seeing this image on inchmark...

...then I started seeing them everywhere....

security envelopes | make something

security envelope buttons | sweetie pie press

the envelope book | alexandre bettler via iDiY

envelope piece #4 | kristiina lahde

new mobile | painted fish studio via iDiY

security envelopes | little paper dog

of bricks and walls | this chicken via little paper dog

charming rosettes | {scissor variations} via iDiY

I started collecting envelopes before I even knew what to do with them! So, my hunt for ideas began. Here are some of the great tutorials I found:

business card organizer | heart handmade

(could also be used as a rolodex or recipe card organizer)

inside out security envelopes | derek & lauren on design sponge

cupcake toppers and garland | creature comfort

security envelope matchbook notepad | little paper dog

And if you don't have any envelopes on hand but you want them in your life you can buy one of these beauties...

pennant bunting | nice package

black & white envelope beads | mushi design

upcycled matchbook notes | girl industries

...and finally my favourite security envelope item...

security banket fabric | sweetie pie press

Yes fabric, which you can buy here from Spoonflower. I would love a quilt made from this fabric as my 'security blanket'.

what a fun collection--don't you just love finding the beauty in the unexpected / yet everyday? and isn't it funny how you get an idea on the brain and suddenly it is everywhere?

that fabric is really terrific. thanks for this.
