winter vintage swap
Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 7:49PM I had so much fun with the last vintage swap (both the giving and receiving) that I signed up for the Winter Vintage Swap as well.
This time I was paired up with the very lovely Sarah of Thistle Downs Wool Design. She told me she likes wool in all its stages, costume jewellery, hanker chiefs, linens, aprons, fire king, buttons, thread, and the colours blue, green, pink and yellow.
So with that my hunt began...
The first thing I found were these two skeins of wool. I never find wool yarn when I'm thrifting (always acrylic yarn) but the thrifting gods were looking down on me that day. Plus the wool was from a Canadian company!
I love that Sarah likes costume jewellery and to me costume jewelry equals sparkly brooches. Maybe because both my Grandmas had them in their modest jewelry boxes and I adored them. I love that this brooch is sparkly but not too flashy.
This pretty little flower is on the set of placemats. I love the combination of applique and cross stitch.
This embroidery is on the cute little hanker chief I found. It also has a lovely crocheted border that I forgot to photograph for some reason.
And here is the whole package all together. I know it has arrived safe and sound (thank you Canada Post!) and I really hope that Sarah enjoys it as much as I enjoyed gathering it for her.
